History

The SCAND Consortium started in 2016 out as an informal gathering of scientists studying autism and neurodevelopmental disorders in the state of South Carolina. Ideas, obstacles, and suggestions were exchanged over breakfast and lunch.
We have grown to represent over 20 research groups across a variety of academic and industry organizations. We consist of faculty, scientists, clinicians, postdocs, staff, and trainees.

Objectives

Our goal is to meet in person several times a year. Annually, we host a research symposium that rotates location each year. This meeting is an opportunity to learn about ongoing projects and new techniques, build collaborations, and make plans to accelerate science and treatment for families affected by autism and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Updated October 2024. This website is managed by rotating managers across the SCAND Consortium.
